Why Is Your Account Missing from My ABM Service Menu?

Your account sits on the row under your name at the bottom of the ABM Service menu, beside Sign out, but only in a web browser and only when your company uses authenticator apps or lets people connect AI assistants. This page explains each reason it may be missing, and why the Your account page itself may show only one of its two parts.

Why is there no Your account in my ABM Service menu?

Your account is in the ABM Service menu only when two things are both true: you signed in to ABM Service in a web browser, and your company uses authenticator apps, lets people connect AI assistants, or both. When it is missing, one of these is the reason:

  • You are using the ABM Service desktop app. The desktop app works as the ABM user it was opened for, never through the browser sign-in, so its menu has no Your account and no Sign out. To reach Your account, open your company's ABM Service address in a web browser and sign in there.
  • Your company uses neither feature. When your system administrator has authenticator apps switched off and does not allow AI assistants, there is nothing on the page for you to look after, so the menu does not offer it. This is not a fault and not a permission you are missing.
  • Your name has not appeared yet. The bottom of the menu shows your name, your company, Your account and Sign out once ABM Service has loaded who you are. If that part of the menu stays empty, go to another screen or reload the page.
  • Your system administrator has only just switched one of them on. The menu learns your company's settings when the page loads, so reload the page in your browser and open the menu again.

The menu entry was called Authenticator until the page also began listing connected AI assistants. It is the same page under a new name, in the same place.

If Your account is there but you were looking for something else about yourself, such as changing your ABM password or your name, that is not in ABM Service at all: whoever looks after ABM at your company changes them in ABM's own user list.

Why does the Your account page not show my authenticator app?

The Your account page shows your authenticator app only when your company uses authenticator apps. When your system administrator has them switched off, the page has no authenticator part at all, and you reach the page only because your company lets people connect AI assistants: it shows Connected assistants and Back to the application and nothing else.

While authenticator apps are switched off, nobody at your company is asked for a code when they sign in, and an authenticator you set up earlier is simply not used. If they are switched on again later, the authenticator you had set up works as before, with nothing to scan again, and it is shown on the Your account page again.

If your company's setting changes while you have the page open, the page can be out of date. Pressing Set up then answers There is nothing to set up here. This page is out of date — load it again. Reload the page to see where things stand.

Only your system administrator can switch authenticator apps on or off, and the choice applies to the whole company: there is no setting for one person.

Why does the Your account page not show Connected assistants?

The Your account page shows Connected assistants only while your company lets people connect their own AI assistants, such as ChatGPT or Claude, or while you still have one connected. When your system administrator has not switched assistants on, the part is not shown, and there is nothing for you to connect or disconnect.

Switching assistants off disconnects everybody at once, so as soon as your company stops allowing them, Connected assistants disappears from your page along with every connection you had. If it is switched on again, you connect your assistant again from the assistant itself.

When the part is shown but says None., your company allows assistants and you have not connected one. The sentence gives the address to add to your assistant.

If Connected assistants shows a reason instead of a list, ABM Service could not read your connections just then. Reload the page to try again.

Whether people may connect assistants is decided by your system administrator for everybody, on the AI assistants screen under Administration. If you would like to use one and it is not offered, ask them.
