What Does the Appointment Card on the Scheduler Show?
Click any appointment on the Scheduler and a small card opens beside it with the visit's details and two buttons: Open call, which opens the call, and Change engineer, which gives the visit to somebody else. It is the quickest way to check a visit without leaving the board.
How do I see the details of an appointment on the Scheduler?
Click the appointment on the Scheduler board. A card opens beside it, headed with the call number and the call type, listing the visit's details. Close it with Close, the cross in its top corner; clicking another appointment opens that one's card instead, and marking out a slot on an engineer's row in a day or week view also closes it. Pressing Escape does not close the card.
The card lists:
- Customer — the customer's name, which you can select to open the customer's screen. A button beside it opens the customer in a new browser tab instead.
- Engineer — the engineer the visit is booked for.
- Due — the day, date, start time and end time of the visit. A visit saved with no length reads no duration recorded after its start time.
- Status — the visit's action status, such as Open, Travelling, On Site or Finished.
- Clashes — shown only when the visit overlaps another visit of the same engineer, with the other calls' numbers.
- Comment — the visit's comment.
The card places itself to the right of the appointment where there is room, otherwise to its left or below it, and follows it as you scroll. Changing the dates or the filters closes it. Very narrow appointments have no words in them; their card is where you read what they are.
How do I open the call from the Scheduler?
Click the appointment on the Scheduler board, then select Open call on its card. The call opens on its own screen, where you can read and change everything about it, including its other visits.
To keep the Scheduler open as well, open the call in a new browser tab: hold Ctrl as you select Open call, or use the middle mouse button.
When you come back from the call with Back, the Scheduler returns to the same dates and filters and brings the same appointment back into view, selected.
The appointment card shows the visit's Status but cannot change it, and it cannot delete the visit. ABM Service does neither anywhere, on the Scheduler or on the call screen: a booked visit cannot be taken off its call, and a visit's status cannot be changed in ABM Service, for example to Finished. To finish the job, select Open call and change the call's own status to your company's closing status, such as Closed, then save the call.
How do I change the engineer from the appointment card on the Scheduler?
Click the appointment on the Scheduler board, select Change engineer on its card, choose the engineer under New engineer, and select Apply change. The visit moves to that engineer at the same day and time, and the usual message offers Undo for six seconds.
- Click the appointment.
- Select Change engineer. A New engineer list opens inside the card.
- Choose the engineer. The list holds every active engineer except the one the visit is already with, including engineers your filters are hiding.
- Select Apply change. It stays greyed out until you have chosen somebody. The card closes and the visit moves to the new engineer's row.
This is the easiest way to hand a visit to an engineer who is far down the list, because you do not have to drag it there.
Why is Change engineer greyed out on the appointment card?
Change engineer is greyed out on the Scheduler's appointment card when the visit's action status does not allow it to be rescheduled: Finished, Cancelled, Matched, Closed or Send Error. The card says so in words, with the line This action’s status does not allow rescheduling., and the same visit cannot be dragged or resized either.
Open call is still available, so you can open the call and see the visit there.
