How to See the Busiest Engineers, Customers and Call Types
The grouping card on the Home screen ranks the engineers, customers or call types in the chosen period, busiest first. Open Home from the menu; the card is on the right, beside Today on the board, and the switch at its top — Type, Customer, Engineer — chooses what it ranks.
How do I see which engineers or customers were busiest on the Home screen?
To see who was busiest, open Home and use the switch at the top of the grouping card on the right: select Engineer, Customer or Type. The card lists them busiest first for the period chosen with the pills.
- Choose the period with Today, This week, This month or This year at the top of the Home screen.
- Select Engineer, Customer or Type on the grouping card.
- Read the list, busiest first, with each one's total on the right. Rows with the same total are in alphabetical order.
A line under the switch says what the card is showing:
- Actions by engineer — engineer visits due in the period, per engineer. The card opens on this every time you open Home.
- Calls by customer — calls logged in the period, per customer.
- Calls by type — calls logged in the period, per call type.
Switching between the three is instant, because everything it needs is already loaded. Only calls of the types ticked under Call types in the counting rules are counted.
What do the bars on the grouping card mean on the Home screen?
Each row's bar on the Home screen's grouping card shows two things: how busy that row is compared with the busiest one, and what its work is made of. The busiest row's bar fills the whole width and every other bar is measured against it, so a bar half as long means half as much work.
Inside each bar, the colours split that row's total into Open, Active, Completed and Cancelled, with grey for uncategorised. Hover over a bar to read each group's name and count. On Engineer the bars use the action colours, and on Customer and Type the call colours, matching the Actions by status and Calls by status panels.
On Customer and Type the split follows your own counting rules, so it can differ from a colleague's. On Engineer the split is fixed by ABM, the same as the Actions by status panel.
How do I see more than twenty rows on the grouping card?
The grouping card on the Home screen shows the busiest twenty rows at first. When there are more, select Show more, at the top right of the card beside the switch; the button says how many more there are, for example Show more (14).
- On Engineer and Type, Show more shows every row.
- On Customer, Show more loads up to the busiest 100 customers. While they load, the button says Loading…. The grouping card never lists more than the busiest 100 customers: if a period has more, Show more stays on the card with the number still hidden, but selecting it again adds nothing.
The line at the foot of the card tells you where you are: "Showing the busiest 20 of 57." when some are hidden, or "All 57." when every row is shown. Changing the switch puts Engineer and Type back to their first twenty; once you have asked for more customers, Customer keeps showing up to 100 until you next open Home. If there is nothing at all in the period, the card says "Nothing in this period."
On Customer, every name on the grouping card, including the ones Show more adds, is a link: select it to open that customer's screen. Engineer and call type rows open nothing.
How do I open a customer from the Home screen?
To open a customer from the Home screen, set the grouping card to Customer and select the customer's name. The customer's screen opens in place of Home.
To open the customer in a new tab instead (or a new window in the ABM Service desktop app), use the small open-in-new button that appears beside the name when you hover over it or move to it with the Tab key.
The back arrow at the top left of the customer screen, Back to customers, brings you back to Home when you came from Home, despite its name, but Home starts afresh there, on This week with the grouping card on Engineer: it does not remember an earlier period you had stepped back to, so choose it again.
Customer names are the only rows on the grouping card that open anything. Engineer and call type rows are for reading only in this version; to see the calls behind them, filter the Calls list.
What does left mean beside an engineer on the Home screen?
"Left" beside an engineer's name on the Home screen's grouping card means that engineer is no longer on your company's active list of engineers. Their visits in the period are still counted, because the work was still done; hover over the label to read "No longer on the active roster. Their work in this period is still counted."
The engineer list can also include subcontractors and other names your company keeps in its list of engineers, so not every row is a person on your staff. Visits given to an ABM user in the office rather than to an engineer are not counted on this card.
